[Hiking his backpack up a little higher, Finn swallows an uneasy feeling growing in his throat and now making a home in the pit of his stomach. A feeling like maybe he was being annoying, showing up at someone’s room unannounced. He’d done that…quite a lot. But recently he’d been feeling more self conscious of himself, generally speaking. Of himself and his role on the ship.
Freshly showered and almost feeling too clean in that sanitized, indoor kind of way, Finn’s hair was still damp, opting to leave his trademark hat behind, and he felt self conscious about that too. Was he trying too hard to fit in? Not hard enough? Maybe he should have had Nettle cut his hair on Ankata…
Shaking his head, he pushes the thought out of his head, at least for now. He was just being friendly. How many people (how many humans) his own age was he ever going to have a chance to know? And maybe this particular human WAS avoiding him, a teensy, tiny bit. Or maybe he wasn’t. Either way, Finn wasn’t going to let that stop what could, obviously and easily be a great friendship if only he gave it a chance!
